I teach English in the classroom and offer extra help / tutoring services to students in a variety of subjects, such as History, Spanish 1, Study Skills, and Strategies for Academic Success. I also have experience in Special Education; I work with teachers by showing them how to implement learning strategies that will help their students access the curriculum, and I also help parents through the Special Education process while they are trying to secure an Individual Education Plan for their child. I have years of experience editing and proofreading a variety of written texts, such as essays, thesis papers, web sites, town reports, books, and business brochures. Throughout the school year, many students struggle to create term papers and keep up with the rest of their assignments at the same time. If academic work does not come easy and the student is frustrated by the amount of work he/she has to do, it can quickly become overwhelming. This is where my services can help. I am willing to give a FREE consult, via e-mail, to find out what your child needs; I am available to help students at any grade level, including college. Some examples of the services I can provide are: Research: If you can tell me the topic, I can help the student create a thesis statement to work from. I will conduct the research the student needs and provide a list of books and online sites that they can read through to find the information needed. (I will not find the exact answers but I can locate where they are and direct the student to the right place). This is a huge time saver, especially if he/she is not familiar with a library and how to narrow done search keywords. The Writing Process: Brainstorming Ideas, Outlining the essay / term paper, Using Graphic Organizers to Organize Researched Information (I can e-mail the organizers or direct you to an URL where they can be printed for use), Editing, and Proofreading. Throughout all of the work I do I will provide a list of how it was done. For example, once I conduct research I will send a report explaining how I found the information with the list of books or web sites the student can use. In addition to sending graphic organizers, I will provide instructions on how to brainstorm, make outlines, edit properly, and proofread. These are tools that any student can use over and over again to succeed. After the initial consult, I will direct you to my business web site where you can purchase my services directly through me. Cost will be dependent on the amount of help the student needs but all of my prices are very reasonable in comparison to other editing service companies.Prices are as follows: Brainstorming, Outlining, Providing Graphic Organizers, and Instruction - $35.00 Editing and Proofreading - $3.50 per page Researching - $85.00 flat rate* Additional fees for RUSH orders are dependent on how quickly the work needs to be done. * Researching flat cost rate is based on a 10 - 12 page essay / term paper. All of the work can be done via e-mail; I have an editing tool I use in MS Word that allows me to make editing comments and changes in red without deleting any of the student's original work; edited work can be shared on an immediate basis. The student just has to e-mail me the document in a message (I'll copy & paste it into a Word Document for editing), or they can send it as an attachment. If you would prefer to have a hard copy edited rather than an electronic copy, arrangements can be made to use the U.S. Postal Service for an additional cost. Please understand that I WILL NOT WRITE ANY ESSAYS OR TERM PAPERS for the student. The writing part is the responsibility of the student and I help with everything else.
